Thorold is a city in Niagara Region, Ontario, on the Welland Canal between St. Catharines and Welland. Lock flight infrastructure, canal-side neighbourhoods, and the short tunnel under the canal shape the city’s identity. It sits on the Niagara Escarpment brow with views toward the lake plain. About 24,000 people live in Thorold.
