Campbell River is on the east coast of Vancouver Island, where Discovery Passage narrows opposite Quadra Island. It markets itself as the Salmon Capital of the World: a working harbour, the Tyee Club, and a long pier still frame the waterfront. Elk Falls and the Campbell River canyon sit just inland.
